Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to compile and analyze financial statements for senior management and board review. This role involves performing month-end closing tasks, including creating journal entries and reconciling accounts. The Senior Accountant will conduct variance and trend analyses to assist with budgeting and financial planning, and develop financial reports using FRX for management's ad hoc needs. Ensuring adherence to GAAP, corporate policies, and internal procedures, and advising on compliance issues is crucial in this role. The position also involves training office managers and updating accounting procedures and audit plans to meet regulatory standards, preparing audit schedules, and liaising with external auditors.

Responsibilities

Compile and analyze financial statements for senior management and board review.

Perform month-end closing tasks, including creating journal entries and reconciling accounts.

Conduct variance and trend analyses to assist with budgeting and financial planning.

Develop and generate financial reports using FRX for management's ad hoc needs.

Ensure adherence to GAAP, corporate policies, and internal procedures, and advise on compliance issues.

Train office managers and update accounting procedures and audit plans to meet regulatory standards.

Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.

4+ years of staff/ senior level accounting experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

GAAP knowledge required

Great Plains experience preferred

Work Environment

You will be part of a small team, working closely with one other team member and reporting to a manager. Initially, you will work in the office for 90 days. After this period, a hybrid schedule will be available, allowing for 1-2 days of remote work per week. The work environment is flexible, offering opportunities to be involved with an ERP implementation going live next year.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
