Job Title: Entry-Level Sewer InspectorJob Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Entry-Level Sewer Inspector to join our team in Kansas City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting sewer systems to ensure they are functioning properly and comply with safety standards. This role is crucial for maintaining the city's infrastructure and preventing environmental hazards.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of sewer lines and systems for signs of damage, blockages, or wear and tear.

Record and document the conditions of the sewer systems for future reference and analysis.

Identify the cause of sewer system problems and develop solutions.

Maintain inspection equipment and vehicles.

Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations during inspections.

Prepare reports of findings, including recommendations for necessary repairs and maintenance.

Coordinate with other teams or departments for any repair and maintenance work required.

Communicate with customers, contractors, or city officials regarding sewer system conditions and required work.

Essential Skills

General construction knowledge and ability to read sewer plans.

Experience with sewer inspection and stormwater drainage.

Knowledge of soil compaction.

Basic knowledge of wastewater management systems and regulations.

Ability to operate and maintain inspection equipment.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Good physical condition, as the role may involve heavy lifting.

Excellent communication skills.

Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

The work environment for this role involves conducting inspections in various outdoor and indoor locations, which may include confined spaces and areas with potential exposure to wastewater. Inspectors will use various inspection equipment and vehicles. The role may require heavy lifting and adherence to safety and sanitation regulations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
