Location: AdventHealth Daytona Beach - 301 Memorial Medical Parkway, Daytona Beach, FL 32117 (this position will require travel to all campuses within region)
The role you'll contribute:
The Marketing Strategist - EMS (MSEMS) establishes, develops, and manages the relationships between hospital administration and ED staff and local/regional/state Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agencies. This role is responsible for supporting, planning, and executing critical initiatives to drive market share and establish trusting relationships with private and local agencies. The MSEMS works with the multi-campus C-suite leadership, Directors of Emergency Department, Business Development, Cardiology, and Stroke service line leaders, and Marketing to increase Emergency Medical Service, Cardiology, and Stroke market share. Identifies and alleviates issues that may affect the delivery of health care as well as the hospital's relationship with EMS providers. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Overall strategic planning and direction of the relationships and business development between AdventHealth and local EMS entities.
Functions as a key member of the Nursing Leadership team and responds to changing and evolving emergency department, EMS, and regional executive strategy goals and initiatives.
Responsible for driving new market share from private and local municipalities, as well as actively seeking to partner with internal service lines to enhance the overall patient experience.
Responsible for performing statistical analysis to determine EMS throughput improvement opportunities, EMS volume fluctuations with root cause analysis and forecasting, and growth opportunity analysis.
Acts as a liaison and maintaining a positive relationship between the hospital and area EMS providers
Serves as an advocate of the hospital with local, regional and state EMS agencies
Serves as lead point of contact for all EMS account management and quality matters for a multi-campus region.
Works with local EMS agencies, multi-campus medical directors, Emergency department directors and hospital administration to facilitate performance improvement initiatives and implement new processes to improve EMS volume and throughput.
Develops the marketing plan for EMS Week and other marketing initiatives throughout the year
Develops and provides recommendations to hospital leadership on how to improve relationships and build loyalty with local EMS agencies
Travel within multi-campus responsibility as well as to local EMS agencies expected to be 50% of time.
Resolves conflicts/complaints that arise between EMS providers and the hospital
On-campus emergencies - assists with planning and response to on-campus emergencies (e.g. visitor emergencies) and may provide direct patient care within scope of license
Ensures hospital compliance with Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other regulatory organizations concerning EMS agencies, students, equipment and supplies
Works with local EMS agencies and medical directors to facilitate performance improvement and quality review
Ensures service line quality (e.g., processes, services and satisfaction) align with facility/division and national quality standards and best practices
The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Associate's degree in Nursing, Paramedic or business-related field
Current licensure as EMT, Paramedic or Registered Nurse
Three (3) or more years of related experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing/business plans
Strong understanding of EMS and/or Emergency Department processes and protocols
Superior ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally with local government officials and EMS entities.
Ability to travel between campuses and EMS agencies in a multi-campus region
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing, Paramedic or business-related field
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
