JOB FUNCTION The Communications and Marketing Coordinator position ensures effective, clear, and proactive communications with customers, employees, and stakeholders. This position also acts to enhance customer and community relations by developing short and long-term marketing strategies, along with conducting marketing, public relations, and outreach activities. This role requires a great deal of independence and decision making, as a wide variety of internal and external relationships are involved to perform the duties in this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. 1. Develop internal and external communications and marketing materials such as memos, procedures, policies, press releases, advertisements, posters, rider alerts, pamphlets, brochures, and schedules. 2. Identify communication needs to develop, coordinate, implement, and manage strategies and goals to inform and engage employees and stakeholders. 3. Prepare communications, correspondence, and presentations as directed. 4. Establish and maintain working relationships with community organizations/agencies. 5. Coordinate Authority presence at various community events. 6. Conduct presentations on Authority services. 7. Create, execute, and market various events designed to increase awareness of Authority services. 8. Review, update, and oversee the Authority's website and social media accounts. 9. Interact with passengers and drivers to gather ideas and strategies to improve Authority services and the customer experience. 10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. 11. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to Five (3-5) years' experience in communications, marketing, or general business. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES 1. Strong written and oral communication skills. 2. Strong organizational and time management skills ability to prioritize. 3. Advanced computer skills on MS Office including MS Word, and Excel. 4. Flexible working schedule as needed to attend community events and meetings. 5. Must be a self-starter and driven 6. High attention to detail and accuracy. 7. Ability to multi-task, be flexible, and adapt to change quickly 8. Well-organized and self-directed who is a team player. 9. Must possess a valid PA driver's License PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires the use of a computer and some travel to seminars and government offices may require overnight stays and the ability to occasionally lift 25-30lbs WORKING CONDITIONS Typical office conditions. Travel between WCTA Locations and surrounding areas. Requires the use of a computer. All exempt employees must always carry their cell phone as a condition of employment. If the employee will be in a location without cell service, the employee should notify the Executive Director.
