Job Description
Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. The Director, Market Access Program and Process Excellence within the Market Access Operations team in U.S. Market Access organization will drive design and execution for key projects, system upgrades/implementations, and process improvement initiatives. This role will report to the Senior Director, Contract Process Excellence and will collaborate with senior leaders and business partners across Market Access operations teams, Market Access, IT, other cross-functional partners, and external vendors.
The successful candidate will have experience leading technology implementations, demonstrate strong project management skills, be highly organized, and be able to manage large, complex projects in a dynamic environment.
This position is ONSITE at our HQ in Foster City, CA .
Key Responsibilities:
Lead program management across Market Access Operations systems and processes including design, resourcing, vendor management, budget, conflict resolution, and pull through of Contract Process Excellence team priorities
Coordinate idea generation, project identification, prioritization, and overall selection, ensuring that projects are integrated with business strategies
Identify, implement, track, and report on process efficiency initiatives to drive incremental cost savings, operational enhancements, and/or duplicate discount reduction
Direct multiple interrelated complex technical projects end to end within prescribed timelines and ensure that all stakeholders are fully informed and knowledgeable of project activities and their status
Facilitate organizational change management for key projects, system implementation, upgrades, enhancements, and transition, and new initiatives including rationale, benefits, and impact
Engage with key stakeholders to support department efforts in solving complex problems and improving performance
Collaborate with operational teams, business process owners, cross-functional stakeholders, and subject matter experts on drive recommendations
Develop and maintain detailed work plans for key initiatives, including project tasks, milestones, work assignments, schedules, plans, resources, budgets, and status reports
Identify and manage project risks through proactive communication with project teams, sponsors, and stakeholders
Facilitate the sharing of best practices and project successes across the organization
Develop and implement communication strategies to effectively share information with a broad set of stakeholders
Support teams assigned to implementing the recommendations
Collaborate with project teams and senior leaders to address issues and develop remediation plans
Navigate multiple projects and initiatives in an dynamic, evolving environment
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years' Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Six Years' Experience
OR
Ph.D.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project management experience and Six Sigma qualifications
Familiarity with Model N and industry contracting and operations systems/processes
Ability to navigate internal organization/processes, mobilize key stakeholders, and engage colleagues; able to influence without direct authority
Strong communication skills with the ability to break down complex situations into simple stories and recommendations
Highly resourceful, process-oriented individual with operational rigor and strong project management capabilities
Proven cross-functional collaborator and business partner, contributing to teams to achieve overall objectives
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative environment
Ability to synthesize inputs from various stakeholders into coherent deliverables
Strong advocate of change with an understanding of change management strategies
5+ years of experience in roles with increasing responsibility and exposure to multiple functions
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
Willingness to travel as needed.

The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
