We are situated in Upland, California, and we're offering an opportunity for a Payroll Accountant to be part of our team in the Local Government sector. This role involves processing and auditing payroll, managing accounting software systems, and handling financial adjustments. It's a fixed-term contract that provides a unique chance to contribute to our team's efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

Utilize various accounting software systems such as ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and others to manage payroll and financial tasks

Conduct detailed audits to ensure accuracy in payroll processing and financial reporting

Handle PERSable pays and ensure their proper categorization for accurate reporting

Engage in critical internal discussions to devise strategies for handling PERSable pays and assessing their financial impact on the city

Manage and enter adjustments for various financial factors, ensuring that all details are accurately documented and reported

Handle 401k - RRSP Administration tasks as part of the payroll accounting responsibilities

Employ Accrual Accounting techniques to maintain up-to-date financial records

Uphold the principles of Auditing to ensure financial integrity and compliance with regulations

Leverage Tyler Technologies Munis and other relevant systems for efficient financial management

Serve as a crucial contributor to our work with Municipalities, aiding in financial and payroll-related tasks.

Requirements - Minimum 5 years of experience in a payroll accounting role

Proficient in the use of Accounting Software Systems

Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

Familiarity with Ceridian and Concur software

Knowledge in 401k - RRSP Administration

Practical experience with About Time software

Solid understanding of Accounting Functions

Proficiency in Accrual Accounting

Experience in Auditing

Familiarity with Tyler Technologies Munis software

Previous experience in Municipalities is preferred
