This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Supporting the Site, this role will report directly to the Technical Training Supervisor and has a tactical focus on the day-to-day implementation and adherence to the site training process. They provide on-the-job training instruction for new team members. This role will partner and align with the overall technical training strategy for the organization. The individual will need to be flexible in their work schedule to accommodate the training needs of a multi-shift operation and the incumbent should a nticipate routine presence on the off-shifts .
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Organize and maintain the onboarding session for new hires until they are endorsed to their respective departments
Facilitate training to new hires on their specific role requirements
Develop and maintain New Hire Onboarding Technical Training Curriculum
Coordinate with leaders to identify training priorities for the new hires
Deliver the training program which includes instructor led, hands-on simulation, and hands-on on-the-job training
Collaborate with the Technical Training Specialists and subject matter experts when needed to ensure training materials are updated
Partner with area Technical Trainer in scheduling the cross-training of new hires to acquire required and additional skills and to build competency
Ability to transfer knowledge in operating / troubleshooting / maintaining systems and equipment
Partner with area Technical Trainer to conduct/coordinate OJT for team members new to the function / role or for periodic assessments of ongoing skills and demonstrated competency.
Partner with area Technical Trainer to monitor and track department training activities by area of support (OJT schedule adherence, cross-training, rotations).
Provide daily guidance and direction to personnel in training on task assignments and expectations.
Work to address new team member concerns related to their OJT training and tools.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma required with higher education acceptable.
Experience as a Job Trainer or Learning Mentor preferred.
Proven ability to build relationships across multiple functions
Passion for training / mentorship
Proven track record in a self-directed work environment
Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills
Technical writing experience (i.e. job aides, procedures, etc...)
Mechanical aptitude required
Technical experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment in a manufacturing environment
MS Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the food industry / regulated environment preferred

The base pay for this position is $20.60 - $41.20 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
