Zurich North America is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst OR Sr Business Systems Analyst to join our Chief Data Officer team based out of North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. This role will have a hybrid schedule.
The Business Systems Analyst will work with the claims business and Chief Data Office, providing solutions for business systems needs and will understand business objectives, processes, and products as well as the business systems capabilities to formulate, define, document, and implement systems scope and objectives to develop and provides solutions.
In addition, as a key member of the Chief Data Officer team, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for profiling, analyzing and documenting the technical requirements.

Ability to work to capture requirements in a formal manner
Ability to be resilient in the face of a complex system, complex problems, and demanding deadlines
Ability to work well with others in a highly interdependent high-performance team
This individual will collaborate with the team to translate business needs/requirements into technical specifications/user stories for product increments while working in an Agile environment supporting the design, construction, and implementation of these updates to the applications. The ideal candidate will be an individual that is an energetic and a skilled professional requiring minimal supervision who operates as a servant leader within the team.
This role will be filled at either the Business System Analyst OR Sr Business Systems Analyst level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant's experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
Business Systems Analyst:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or Engineering and 5 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area AND
Process reengineering, e.g. LEAN/Six Sigma, Continuous improvement methodologies
Process modeling tools
Business Systems Integration
OR
Sr Business Systems Analyst:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area AND
Experience with process modeling tools.
Insurance application system design/analysis experience.
Experience with use case development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced business systems analysis skills - gathering and documenting requirements.
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and translate technical speak to business leads/stakeholders.
Commercial insurance background, preferably with claims
Advanced Excel skills.
Good SQL and data analysis skills.
Generative AI or big data project experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Insurance industry experience.

We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The combined salary range for this position is $64,600.00 to $140,000.00. The proposed salary range for the Business Systems Analyst is $64,600.00 to $105,900.00 with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed range for the Sr Business Systems Analyst is $85,500.00 to $140,000.00 with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
