POSITION SUMMARY:
Lundbeck US is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and highly experienced individual for the position of Sr. Data Scientist AI Strategy & Activation. This individual will support the implementation of the US AI strategy and activation that is aligned with business goals driven by portfolio strategic priorities. This individual will also be responsible to identify and leverage opportunities to utilize AI for innovation and growth across Lundbeck US.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design, train, test, and deploy AI/ML models and algorithms to generate actionable insights for business teams and optimize existing processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and product managers, to understand business requirements, design AI solutions, and ensure successful integration of AI-driven solutions.
Conduct thorough data exploration and preprocessing and identify features to improve model performance.
Fine-tune and optimize models for production environments to meet performance, speed, and scalability goals.
Apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, including neural networks, reinforcement learning, and unsupervised learning, to solve complex business problems.
Monitor and evaluate model performance, implementing improvements based on feedback and results.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning research, and proactively identify areas where AI solutions can improve efficiency and effectiveness across various business functions.
Contribute to the development of an AI strategy that aligns with business goals and drives value across various functions.
Document AI models, methodologies, and processes, ensuring that best practices are shared within the team and the broader organization.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, sharing knowledge and contributing to the development of junior data scientists.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
Accredited bachelor's degree ina quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.).
4+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML model development, deployment, and optimization.
Strong hands-on experience with AI/ML algorithms, NLP, Deep Learning, and large language models (LLMs).
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
Experience in working with cloud platforms and MLOps for model deployment.
Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
Ability to tackle complex problems independently, providing practical and scalable AI solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to translate data into business insights.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
Experience leading projects or teams and collaborating with non-direct reports to achieve project goals.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries is preferred.
In-depth experience working with pharmaceutical datasets (first-party patient data, third-party claims, EHR, demand data).
Familiarity with regulatory standards in the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., GxP, ALCOA+).
7+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML model development, deployment, and optimization.
TRAVEL:
Willingness/Ability to travel up to 20% domestically. International travel may be required.
The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $185,000 - $215,000 and eligibility for a 20% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company's long-term incentive plan.
