Job Title: Manufacturing Technician IIJob Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician II to join our team at our North Chicago site. This is a 12-month contract position with potential for extension. The role involves working in a clean room environment, maintaining fibroblast cell cultures, and supporting various cell culture activities. We have two possible shifts available: Sunday - Wednesday 6am - 4:30pm or Wednesday - Saturday 6am - 4:30pm. Please indicate your preferred shift on your resume.

Responsibilities

Maintain human fibroblast cell culture in a clean room environment as directed by manufacturing schedules within standard times and according to established procedures.

Assist in the manufacture of solutions used in production and processing of raw materials.

Sample by-products using standard methodologies.

Complete all relevant documentation compliant with cGMP and GDP guidelines.

Maintain the cell culture complex and surrounding environment, including refrigerators, freezers, and warm rooms.

Assist in the organization and housekeeping of the washroom and production support areas.

Assist in the cleaning of autoclavable materials used during cell culture.

Assist in the maintenance of cell expansion cultures.

Maintain a clean and safe work area and report unsafe conditions to management.

Assist in the assembly of cell culture roller bottles.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

3+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in a cGMP environment.

Experience with LIMS, SAP, and automated control systems.

Mechanical skills and experience working in a clean room.

Ability to follow written instructions in excess of 20 pages.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Natural Science, Cell Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering, or an Associate degree with relevant work experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working with mammalian cell cultures in a cleanroom environment.

Strong understanding of biology, including tissues, cells, and cell-cell interactions.

Intermediate problem-solving skills.

High level of mathematical skills.

Experience working in a GMP regulated environment.

Aseptic technique and clean room experience.

Work Environment

This position operates in a clean room environment, requiring full head-to-toe gowning. Open toe shoes, shorts, jewelry, make-up, false eyelashes, fake nails, or hats are not allowed. The role involves shift work, with potential for overtime. Candidates willing to relocate may be considered at their own expense.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
