The Opportunity
This role is on a hybrid schedule in office weekly with a some remote days
The Operational Risk Management Testing and Monitoring (ORM T&M) Team is primarily responsible for evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls listed in the Risk and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA). In addition, ORM T&M evaluates Business Line T&M Programs for effectiveness, adherence with internal policy, and for reliance opportunities. This position will lead the day-to-day activities of the ORM T&M team, including planning engagements, execution, reporting test results and recording issues, if appropriate.
ORM T&M sits within Ally's Independent Risk Management (IRM) function. IRM maintains and implements Ally's risk management framework and independently oversees risk-taking activities, sets parameters representative of a strong risk culture that encourages an informed, measured, disciplined, and balanced approach to risk-taking and fair and honest treatment of customers, counterparties, and employees. IRM's responsibilities include providing an objective, critical assessment of risks and evaluation of whether Ally remains aligned with its risk appetite and risk limits.
The Work Itself
Develop annual Operational Risk Test Plan in accordance with policy requirements by utilizing knowledge of RCSA and understanding of testing performed by other IRM Teams (i.e. Compliance Testing) to ensure efficiency and minimize burden on business operations.
Lead execution of the Test Plan, ensuring testing is performed appropriately and in accordance with policy and procedure. Develop scope, test steps, and lead discussions.
Monitor the status of testing, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
Identify, communicate, and document control gaps and enhancements. Monitor known issues and validate remediation plans.
Communicate results to BL leaders and document results in GRC Archer.
Hire, train, and manage staff.
Ensure key deliverables are routed through the appropriate approval process and signed off per procedure.
Review Business Line T&M teams to evaluate effectiveness, adherence with policy, and determine reliance opportunities, as well as execute BL Reliance Reviews, when appropriate.
Provide periodic updates to Senior Director and executive leadership through reporting routines.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners and business line contacts.
The Skills You Bring
5+ years' experience in Testing or Audit, preferably in financial services.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar discipline, is required
CPA or CIA designation is preferred
Control testing subject matter expertise is required.
Strong knowledge of internal control concepts and testing/auditing standards
Strong knowledge of common risk management framework and methodologies.
Proficient at issue identification and leading communication with management, problem-solving/troubleshooting, and issue escalation.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, coach, mentor, and delegate preferred
Knowledge of RCSA and Compliance Risk Assessments is preferred .
Strong ability to propose, develop and execute tactical planning aligned to department-wide strategy
Requires limited supervision and taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
Conflict management skills and/or demonstrated the ability to handle difficult situations with clients or teammates
High-level of written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively across business levels (both vertically and horizontally)
Ability to support multiple assignments and stakeholders, self-prioritize workload, coordinate with teammates, and ensure that deadlines are met
Comfortable working in an evolving and dynamic environment
Expert proficiency with all Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)
High level of personal integrity, with the ability to handle confidential and otherwise sensitive matters professionally and with the appropriate level of judgement and maturity.
Team-oriented and skilled in working in a collaborative environment

Base Pay Range:
An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
