Description We are recruiting for the role of Property Accountant in Stillwater, Minnesota. This role involves performing various accounting functions in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

Accurately process financial transactions and provide approvals within designated limits.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash disbursement accounts.

Conduct regular audits on contracts, orders, and vouchers, preparing reports to validate each transaction prior to settlement.

Investigate and correct any discrepancies found in financial entries, documents, and reports.

Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

Provide necessary account information and documentation to outside auditors for the annual audit.

Prepare and submit tax forms to federal, state, and local government agencies.

Recommend improvements for accounting operation regarding reserves, assets, and expenditures.

Coordinate with software vendors to maintain and enhance accounting software systems.

Comply with GAAP and company procedures, while monitoring the effectiveness of accounting control procedures. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year experience in a Property Accountant role

Proficiency in account coding

Experience with accounting software systems

Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

Knowledge of AMSI and AppFolio

Ability to perform all accounting functions

Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

Understanding of accrual accounting

Auditing skills

Knowledge of the full accounting cycle

Proficient in making accounting entries

Experience with Yardi and Yardi Property Management

General accounting skills

Proficient in handling general ledger

Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation

Experience in reconciling balance sheet account

Understanding of GAAP Accounting and US GAAP

Proficiency in bank account reconciliation

Ability to calculate profit margin and profit loss

Experience in creating income statements

Knowledge of GAAP - STAT
