Job Title: Accounting Supervisor
Job Description
Collaborate with plant operations and accounting teams to create and enhance systems, processes, and reports aimed at driving continuous improvement across the facility. Conduct ad-hoc reviews and analyses of revenue and expenses to ensure compliance and accuracy within our accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) systems. Uphold the integrity of the plant's general ledger in accordance with GAAP, including the capitalization of fixed assets. Oversee the monthly financial close and reporting cycle, including performing variance analysis. Act as a hands-on leader, gaining a thorough understanding of operations to provide impactful and relevant reporting and forecasts. Develop and mentor staff, focusing on their growth and engagement with processes. Assist in the development and maintenance of performance metrics, forecasts, and costing systems. Demonstrate a desire and ability to learn operational processes, going beyond financial functions to understand root causes from an operations perspective. Collaborate closely with the accounting team to develop and standardize processes and procedures.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
Proficiency in SAP, SAP ERP, and Excel including formulas and macros.
Strong analytical skills in financial reporting, balance sheet, month-end close, and ad-hoc reporting.
Supervisory background in manufacturing accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, and journal entries.
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Knowledge of GAAP and accounting processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
CPA or relevant certification preferred.
3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Experience in a manufacturing accounting setting or cost accounting.
Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience with financial analysis and budgeting.
Work Environment
The position requires working 5 days in the office, which is based in a manufacturing setting. The accounting team at this location is dedicated and collaborative. This role offers opportunities for growth, especially with the plant controller retiring in 2-3 years. The company provides stability as it has not been negatively affected by market conditions. The client base includes major retailers and the company is a leader in sustainability, selling organic products.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $43.27/hr.
