Job Title: Process Technician II (Manufacturing Technician)
Location: Newton, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC
Pay Rate: $25 per hour
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM
Education: High school diploma or GED (minimum)
Position Overview
CTG's premier client is seeking a Process Technician II to support engineering projects focused on capacity expansions, new equipment installations, and process improvements. The successful candidate will work directly with project leads and engineering teams to enhance manufacturing processes, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and contribute to project execution.
Responsibilities
Scope of Position
Assist in manufacturing engineering projects, including capacity installations, product qualification, and equipment debugging.
Provide analytical, process, and mechanical support to divisional teams.
Collaborate with project leads to optimize manufacturing equipment performance.
Support build team leads in new equipment/process introductions and improvement initiatives.
Assist in developing and executing project plans to ensure timely, error-free mechanical support for multi-line installations.
Work with vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues while maintaining project scope, timing, and cost goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Maintain safe work practices and proactively address hazardous conditions.
Implement technical solutions and process improvements to enhance manufacturing equipment capability.
Assist with equipment installation and debugging to meet project timelines.
Analyze data and collaborate with subject matter experts to resolve mechanical and process issues.
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate storeroom entries based on supplier recommendations.
Provide training and support for operations workforce on equipment or process changes.
Travel Requirements
Project locations may include Newton and Hickory, North Carolina.
Work Schedule & Flexibility
Standard 40-hour workweek (~10% overtime expected).
Overtime and off-hours coverage may be required to meet project demands and coordinate with team personnel.
Qualifications
Required Education
High school diploma or GED (minimum).
Experience
2+ years of experience in new equipment installations or process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with start-up projects, new equipment installations, and project expansions.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-priority environment.
Required Skills
Strong mechanical and process troubleshooting skills.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills
Hands-on experience with commercial manufacturing equipment.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Soft Skills
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Ability to prioritize and adapt to shifting project demands.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
