Design, develop, and test electrical devices for medical use, with a focus on quality control and ensuring devices satisfy user requirements. Duties include:

 In conjunction with Engineering Manager and other technical staff, identify projects and specific project requirements, as well as create and maintain project schedules. Create project plans and product design and development (design control) deliverables.

 Create and contribute to the product design, tooling, and other processes and documentation needed to design and manufacture medical devices.

 Use embedded C programming, embedded microcontroller architecture, embedded controls systems, programming internal peripherals, and interfacing with external sensors and circuits.

 Complete the instrumentation of sensors.

 Ensure that test protocols are followed, evaluate technical results from tests and other inputs, and create and prepare technical reports.

 Provide information regarding product cost.

 Ensure maintenance and support interpretation of technical documents, including those provided by the customer.

 Obtain and ensure adequate control of customer documents and documents of external origin, such as recognized standards and test methods.

 Maintain project files and records, including electronic files, related to assigned jobs.

Complete and maintain departmental forms and records as required. Develop and maintain procedures and forms needed by the department.

Coordinate production and logistics, including identifying and coordinating purchase of facilities, equipment, tools, materials, and services needed for product design and development.

Establish supplier relations and provide necessary information to the supplier control coordinator.

Ensure performance of tasks in accordance with company quality system requirements, interacting with other departments as needed.

Perform design reviews, trouble-shoot malfunctions, and communicate design status to project manager, company, management, and customers.

Provide relevant update information at daily standups, program meetings, and customer meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position requires (1) Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. (2) 24 months of experience in an electrical engineering position focused on quality control/assurance, including production and logistics; designing and testing electrical equipment to meet requirements; and trouble-shooting malfunctions. (3) Work experience must include the following; in lieu of using these skills on the job, employer will accept 3 credits of college coursework that covered these topics and/or a postsecondary research position (at least 135 hours): (a) Embedded C programming; (b) Embedded microcontroller architecture; (c) Embedded controls systems; (d) Programming internal peripherals; (e) Interfacing with external sensors and circuits; (f) Completing the instrumentation of sensors; (g) Ensuring that test protocols are followed; (h) Evaluating technical results from tests and other inputs. (i) Creating and preparing technical reports.
