The Union County Prosecutor is now hiring a full-time Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Primary duties include performing professional legal work in preparing and prosecuting cases (e.g. municipal prosecution, appeals, and felony prosecution, as assigned). This position has a high degree of autonomy and works directly with multiple agencies including law enforcement, courts, and administration. The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney performs legal research; drafts, reviews, and files pleadings; attends court hearings, prosecutes cases on behalf of the State of Ohio, and represents County public officials and Township officials in civil litigation.

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with candidate's experience and skill set and includes federal student loan forgiveness options as well as full county and OPERS benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS

An example of acceptable qualifications:

Possession of Juris Doctorate and two (2) - four (4) years' experience as a practicing attorney. Must have excellent organization, attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and critical thinking skills. Must be able to deal with many variables; define and solve problems, collect, analyze, and interpret data, establish facts, and determine specific action. Must be honest, dependable, trustworthy and capable of completing a comprehensive background investigation in a satisfactory manner.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a lawyer in good-standing with the Ohio Supreme Court.
