The Union County Clerk of Courts is now hiring a part-time Court of Appeals Legal Deputy Clerk in the Clerk of Courts Office to work approximately 25 hours/week. Under general supervision of the Office Manager, Civil/Domestic Manager, Criminal Manager and administrative direction of the Clerk of Courts, processes and issues documents for the Third District Court of Appeals, Civil/Domestic, and Criminal Divisions. Also performs records management duties, provides assistance to the public, and answers the phone.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of secondary education or equivalent; two (2) - four (4) years' experience in customer service, general office keeping, or bookkeeping; ability to work quickly and accurately; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must be able to complete a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation process. LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Continuing education classes as needed. EQUIPMENT OPERA TED: The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Personal computer, computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, other applicable software), printer, scanner, copy machine, calculator, fax machine, credit card machine, shredder, electric court seal, and other standard business office equipment. INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment ( e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); works in and around crowds; may have contact with emotional or distraught people; occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on even and uneven surfaces; occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects 25 lbs. or less. Note: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered sedentary work.
