Administrative & Human Resources Assistant

[Reporting directly to the County Administrator, the Administrative & Human Resources Assistant provides comprehensive administrative, financial and human resources support to ensure efficient daily operations within the county office. This position serves as a point of contact for employees, the public, vendors, and department administrators while supporting accounts payable functions, records management, employee benefits administration, and office operations. [Essential Duties and Responsibilities]{.underline}

Human Resources & Benefits Administration

[Assist/administer employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and leave programs. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Support with employee benefits enrollment for new hires, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and separations. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Support with benefits policies, procedures, and coverage options to employees and retirees. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Assist with maintaining accurate employee records, payroll, and benefits systems. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Assist with benefit changes and ensuring accurate payroll deductions and employer contributions. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Assist with COBRA notifications and continuation coverage requirements. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Assist employees with claims issues and communicate with insurance carriers and third-party administrators. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Support compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws including ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA, and public employment regulations. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Assist with preparing reports, audits, and documentation related to benefits administration and compliance. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Assist with employee communications, benefits meetings, and open enrollment materials. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

Administrative & Office Operations

[Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and public inquiries. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Monitor front entrance and assist visitors, employees, vendors, and the public. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Open, sort, and distribute incoming and interoffice mail. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}

[Assist with office files, records, and organizational systems. ]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
