Position: Wastewater Operator II Agency: Water/Wastewater Department**

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), three (3) years of experience in Wastewater Treatment operations.

Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):

Ohio EPA Class II Wastewater Supply License is required.* Valid Driver's License.

Qualified candidates with a Class III Operators License will also be considered.

*May be acquired after hire and obtained prior to the end of the probationary period.

Hours: Full time, M-F, 35 hour week, regular work hours 7:30AM-4PM, must be available in the event of an emergency with occasional weekends, holidays and on-call with additional compensation

Salary:** $32.00 - $35.00 / hour

Summary:

Performs required functions of the daily operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant. Acts as a backup Wastewater System Operator of Record.

Duties:

Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance

Working hours may vary and include shift work.

Acts as Backup Operator of Record (Class II) according to Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) Guidelines, including completion and submission of Monthly Operating Reports and Annual Sludge Report.

May act as Collections System II Operator of Record.

Ensures that all Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) required wastewater samples are collected and coordinated with contract laboratory as per Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) and NPDES requirements.

Under general supervision of the Utilities Superintendent and reports daily on updates and changes to the wastewater treatment plant.

Monitors wastewater treatment equipment in order to ensure proper operation; checks chemical supply levels and replenishes as necessary; records and log plant data.

Operates and maintains wastewater plant systems (pumps, compressors, electrical controls, lines, etc.).

Operates and maintains belt filter press and associated equipment.

Receives and responds to emergency situations related to treatment, collection and water distribution operations.
