MISSION:

Guardian and Protective Services meets the needs of vulnerable adults, the elderly, mentally ill, brain injured and disabled adults in North Dakota who need a decision maker because they have limited support, no family members, or capable friends to assist them.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Guardian and Protective Services Accounting clerk gathers and confirms information regarding a clients financial assets, insurance and State and Federal benefits, balances bank statements, and enters all data into the client database. The Account Clerk is an important member of the financial team working to ensure a clients needs are met and operational details flow smoothly and with accuracy.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Uphold all agency policies, HIPAA and fiduciary expectations in performing the job.

Warmly answer and make calls to agencies, supportive services, and financial institutions.

Use provided systems/tools to fully document, track, record, follow-up and capture all related activity in a timely and accurate manner.

ND Pooled Trust: Record transactions and reconcile trust accounts.

Reconcile monthly and/or quarterly Checking, Savings, Resident Trust, Investment and Life Insurance accounts/policies.

Send monthly and periodic financial reports

Gather information for completion of Medicaid, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), and housing applications and reviews.

Research and verify a clients assets.

Scan pertinent documents into a clients electronic record.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in mailings: Tax Statements, Donor Letters, Billings, Fee Increases, etc.

Follow-up with Social Workers to ensure necessary financial information and documents are collected from a client or agency upon intake***

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

High School or GED or equivalent education or experience.
