The Data Scientist (multiple positions open) at PAXAFE, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN will analyze raw data to uncover patterns that will improve customer operations. Identify valuable data sources, leverage large sets of structured and unstructured data, and develop and validate statistical forecasting models (predictive and prescriptive) and machine-learning algorithms. Build data products to extract valuable business insights. Automate collection processes. Develop tactical and strategic insights to discover trends and patterns. Develop large language model (LLM)-based applications, utilizing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks. Present information using data visualization techniques and tools to technical and non-technical business partners. Collaborate with analytical and data teams to set objectives, approaches, and work plans. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Masters degree in a quantitative field, and 2 years in a professional data mining and analytics, or related, occupation including machine learning, model development, and validation. Must include two years of experience with each of the following: (1) statistical package and programming languages, including Python, R, SQL, Java, C++, SAS, and MatLab; (2) SQL queries and data transformation techniques to build custom Tableau dashboards, including real-time visualizations that extract insights for supply chain risk management; (3) classification and regression techniques, including dimension reduction, feature selection, and hypothesis testing; (4) application of statistical models to discover variables in real-time time series data; (5) deploy production-ready models using cloud-based platforms, including AWS SageMaker and Azure Machine Learning; and (6) present data analysis results and research findings to technical and non-technical groups, including executives.
