Job Title: Engine Integration Engineer

Job Description: Support product development with a focus on heavy-duty diesel engine integration and performance of PACCAR engine families. Lead software integration efforts to ensure correct CAN messaging is present for quality integration between the engine and other vehicle systems. Test defects, determine root cause, and provide input for potential resolution and engine software/controls improvements. Coordinate test set-up execution in vehicle and test cell environments. Lead integration and hardware testing of cooling system components to ensure engine installation requirements are achieved. Interface with engine fan suppliers providing calibration support during initial tuning and integration activities. Lead troubleshooting for system integration defects found during new product testing. Work within a global team to develop test plans to ensure requirement coverage and quality results. Domestic travel to testing locations required up to 20%.

Job Requirements:** Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field or foreign equivalent plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience including at least 3 years of experience in each of the following:

Working with functionalities of automotive subsystems, including engine, after-treatment, fuel systems, and transmissions;

Working with engine control architecture and the interaction of subsystems within the engine, including turbo, EGR, and fuel system;

Calibrating base engine controls using ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, or equivalent calibration software;

Analyzing on-board diagnostics codes/faults and diagnosing the faults to identify the root cause of the issue/fault using software resource documents;

Using instrumentation for Dyno/vehicle testing and analyzing the recorded data to make informed judgements by using MATLAB, Excel, DC plot/uniplot;

Operating an engine/chassis dynamometer and understanding its working principles for diagnosis;

Measuring various emissions produced in an automotive powertrain and applying emission regulations/standards set by various regulatory boards, including EPA and CARB; and

Applying knowledge for quality integration of powertrain components.

Experience may be gained concurrently.

SALARY: $138,611-$179,100 /year. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. LOCATION: Position full-time, 40 hours per week, with PACCAR Inc located in Mt. Vernon, WA. Position requires domestic travel to testing locations required up to 20%.
