JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Accounting Assistant will assist with preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization's assets liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide bookkeeping/accounting support to the trust accounts established for consumers whom SERV is representative payee

Provide bookkeeping/accounting support for all monthly Consumer Receivable accounts for rent and contribution to care

Records journal entries and assist with month end close and related reconciliations.

Prepares and distributes reports on all accounts; maintains and records all deposits and disbursements related to the trust accounts

Maintains files of all cash disbursements to clients; secures authorized signatures on requested checks

Prepares and distributes monthly invoices/statements for fee-for-service charges

Reconciles all trust accounts and consumer accounts on a monthly basis and follow up with payments that are in arrears

Maintains trust account balances to remain below threshold to remain eligible for Medicaid benefits

Calculates and initiates transfer of funds to pooled trust account when appropriate

Process payments for invoices due from consumers: such as rent and medical expenses

Communicates to guardians, staff and other applicable parties when needed

Provides outside agencies and auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform audit(s)

Maintains subledger for rents in tandem with Properties and Management

Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Proficient with Sage Intaact preferred but not required

Maintains positive working relationships with staff members, both at the administrative offices and at program locations

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:

High school diploma or equivalent;

2 years relevant experience preferred;

Valid driver's license in state of residence.

SALARY:

$28.34 per hour.
