Accounts Receivable Analyst

Robert Half • The Woodlands, TX • 15h ago

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Analyst to join a growing organization in the energy and natural resources sector. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing high-volume billing activity with proactive collections, account analysis, and customer communication. The role will focus on strengthening invoice accuracy, reducing aging balances, and supporting steady cash flow through close coordination with both customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the receivables process from initial ticket review through invoice delivery, payment follow-up, and final account resolution.

Prepare and track a large monthly invoice volume using OpenTicket and OpenInvoice while ensuring timely and accurate submission.

Review aging data and customer account activity to prioritize collection efforts and help reduce past-due balances.

Investigate billing exceptions such as disputed charges, short payments, rejected invoices, deductions, and other account variances.

Work closely with customers, sales partners, and operations teams to secure invoice approvals and remove barriers to payment.

Maintain billing records in alignment with customer requirements, including purchase orders, cost centers, requisition details, and contractual terms.

Communicate directly with accounts payable contacts to confirm payment timing, obtain remittance information, and drive issue resolution.

Reconcile customer accounts by clearing unapplied cash, reviewing credits, and correcting discrepancies that impact receivable balances.

Produce recurring receivables reports and invoice tracking analysis in Excel and related systems to support cash flow visibility and performance improvement.

Contribute ideas that improve billing efficiency, collection results, and the overall customer payment experience. Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, commercial collections, billing, or credit and collections.

Proven ability to manage high-volume invoicing and maintain a portfolio of customer accounts.

Hands-on experience with OpenTicket and OpenInvoice is required.

Strong working knowledge of dispute resolution, account reconciliation, collections activity, and customer account management.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and spreadsheet-based analysis.

Clear communication and strong follow-up skills when working with customers and internal business partners.

Strong organizational ability with close attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Industry experience in oil and gas, energy services, industrial services, or equipment rental is preferred.
