Summary About the Position: This is an Engineering Technician (Civil) GS-0802-7/8/9 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Southwestern Division, Tulsa District, Okay, Oklahoma. Position may be filled at any grade level. Responsibilities Responsible for planning detailed phases of maintenance through construction or service contracts, hired labor, or in combination of both, and assigned contract administration and surveillance duties. Performs maintenance and construction work of a technical nature required at an operational Corps of Engineers operational lake facility including planning, coordinating, inspecting, and supervising work of contractors. Selectee collects data and prepares sketches or other design criteria to define work function for engineering personnel who are developing required plans and specifications. Utilizes computer software to develop and administer critical path management of maintenance and construction program for project office and maintain detailed equipment maintenance and utilization records. Performs routine inspection on structures to insure maintenance integrity and readiness for operation. OR Education: one full year of graduate level education in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, industrial technology, or related field. GS-08 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Administering construction and service contracts for an organization to include preparing Government estimates, reviewing designs, supporting solicitations, coordinating contract modifications, conducting contractor surveillance, or performing quality assurance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing computer-based project-management and asset-management systems to track maintenance schedules, critical-path activities, equipment utilization, and facility-maintenance records. AND 2) Coordinating with engineering personnel, contract specialist, contractors and other agencies to resolve maintenance and construction issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education: Master's or equivalent degree or have completed two full years of graduate level education leading to such a degree in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
