Job Title: Assembler / Brazer Job Description
This role focuses on the precision assembly and brazing of small, multi-component parts used in mission-critical applications. You will work with extremely tight tolerances, handle very small and delicate components, and use magnification equipment to perform detailed assembly, brazing, and inspection tasks. Depending on your experience and skill set, you may specialize in assembly, brazing, or perform both to support dynamic production needs.
Responsibilities
Assemble small, multi-component precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings and detailed work instructions.
Perform brazing operations on assigned components, following established process parameters and quality standards.
Work to extremely tight tolerances, including dimensions around 0.001 inch, ensuring consistent accuracy and repeatability.
Handle, position, and assemble very small and delicate components with a high degree of precision and care.
Use magnification equipment, such as microscopes or magnifying lenses, to perform detailed assembly, brazing, and inspection work.
Inspect completed assemblies for proper fit, alignment, workmanship, and overall quality, identifying and addressing any defects.
Follow established quality procedures, safety guidelines, and production processes to maintain high standards and safe operations.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are used and stored properly.
Essential Skills
Strong manual dexterity and steady hands to work with very small components and precision assemblies.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for detailed work under magnification.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy when working to extremely tight tolerances, including around 0.001 inch.
Ability to handle, position, and assemble very small and delicate components without damage.
Ability to perform detailed work while viewing components through a magnifying lens or microscope for extended periods.
Experience or aptitude in small parts assembly using hand tools and basic mechanical assembly techniques.
Ability to follow detailed drawings, work instructions, and established quality and safety procedures.
Capability to perform brazing and soldering tasks, or strong willingness to learn and apply these processes in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in precision assembly, brazing, soldering, or small parts assembly is preferred.
Background in electronics, medical device manufacturing, aerospace, or similar fine-detail manufacturing environments is a plus.
Experience using microscopes or other magnification equipment for assembly, inspection, or rework.
Familiarity with inspection practices for fit, alignment, and workmanship in precision assemblies.
Comfort working with hand tools and performing mechanical assembly and inspection tasks.
Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability in a production setting.
Interest in supporting mission-critical programs in aerospace, defense, or related industries.

Work Environment
This position is based in a brand-new, clean, air-conditioned manufacturing facility that supports advanced aerospace and defense machining and precision assembly. You will work Monday through Friday, with some flexibility required for first-shift start times as the schedule may be adjusted as the operation grows. The environment includes modern equipment, magnification tools such as microscopes and magnifying lenses, and a strong focus on quality and safety. The team culture is supportive and friendly, with a shared commitment to meeting critical missions for defense-related programs. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buda, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
