The Opportunity
We are looking for a Credit Risk Analytics Manager Senior - Real Estate Lending with experience in FHA lending, FHA credit risk analytics, and home equity products, including HELOCs. In this role, you'll leverage data and analytics to assess portfolio performance, identify emerging credit risks, challenge assumptions, and uncover the key drivers behind portfolio trends. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, enjoys solving complex problems, and can turn data-driven insights into meaningful recommendations that support sound business and risk decisions. Experience within mortgage, home equity, or broader consumer lending environments is strongly preferred, along with proficiency using tools such as Python, SAS, or similar analytical platforms.
Beyond technical expertise, we're seeking someone who leads through influence and collaboration. This individual will serve as a trusted partner across Risk, Finance, Modeling, Product, and Operations teams while helping mentor and develop junior analysts. Success in this role requires a team-first mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. Whether enhancing reporting processes, developing scalable analytical solutions, or guiding colleagues through complex risk challenges, this person will play a key role in strengthening the team's analytical capabilities and supporting effective risk management across a large lending portfolio.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC or Tampa, FL.

What you'll do:
Applies industry leading practices and analytical rigor to manage and assess risks and opportunities across the Bank's consumer portfolios and translates results into strategic solutions.
Partners to deliver on Bank strategies across lines of defense by effectively developing and improving complex analytical frameworks, analyzing data and processes, and clearly communicating information and insights to key stakeholders and leadership.
Applies industry knowledge to develop advanced and nuanced quantitative analysis utilizing extensive internal and external data sources to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous and challenging problems.
Challenges risk proposals in designated risk area of credit, market, operations, product, or strategic,,) through detailed research and vetting, leveraging banking product, regulatory and industry knowledge, and critical thinking skills to ensure strong portfolio performance outcomes.
Designs, builds, and may assist in maintaining effective risk management frameworks that enable identification, measurement, and mitigation of risk in a complex environment.
Develops and oversees comprehensive risk reporting in support of management and committee oversight of existing and emerging risks.
Designs complex financial risk sensitivity analysis.
Provides thought leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members regarding analytics and risk management.
May execute or implement advanced credit and/or financial modeling infrastructure.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
Experiences that will support your success:
6 years experience in an analytical field or work focused on leading risk management execution, assessments or advanced analytics OR 4 years experience in an analytical field or focused on risk management execution, analytics or risk assessments with an advanced degree in a quantitative, scientific, engineering, business or technical field OR an equivalent level of demonstrated competencies in industry leading risk management execution, advanced analytics, and risk assessments.
2 years prior analytical experience in a financial services or highly regulated environment.
Experience developing and maintaining analytical reporting.
Experience applying critical thinking skills to support successful performance outcomes.
Demonstrated awareness of relevant laws, rules and regulations, such as guidance and requirements associated with OCC Heightened Standards.
Strong knowledge of current analytical coding languages such as Python, SAS, or SQL.
What sets you apart:
Advanced experience performing FHA credit risk analytics, including portfolio performance monitoring, risk identification, and trend analysis within mortgage or home equity lending portfolios.
Demonstrated expertise in HELOC, Mortgage, or Consumer Lending environments, with a strong understanding of credit performance drivers, underwriting practices, and portfolio management.
Experience using analytical tools such as Python, SAS, SQL, or VS Code to develop scalable reporting, investigate portfolio trends, and deliver data-driven insights.
Proven ability to mentor and develop junior analysts, providing guidance on analytical methodologies, risk assessment, and professional growth while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Strong track record of leading through influence by partnering across Risk, Finance, Modeling, Product, and Operations teams to identify emerging risks, challenge assumptions, and support strategic business decisions.
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340 **.

Compensation:** USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
