POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTANT\ \ LOCATION: EDUCATION CENTER - BUSINESS OFFICE\ \ POSTING DATE: September 23, 2026\ \ CLOSING DATE: For best consideration, please apply byOctober 07, 2026. However, position will be open until filled.\ \ ADDITIONAL INFO: Eight hours per day\ \ DAYS: Twelve-month position\ \ SALARY SCHEDULE: Rate of pay will be \$31.98 per hour\ \ START DATE: November 9, 2026\ \ Purpose of Class\ \ Directs and performs the accounting functions of District; performs related work as required.\ \ Primary Function\ \ The principal function of the accountant is to direct and perform all aspects of the accounting function of the Districtincluding the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and purchase order processes.This position also prepares required financial reports. The position supervises the Accounts Payable clerks. The work is performed under the supervision of the Finance Coordinator but considerable latitude is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment.\ \ Essential Duties and Responsibilities (will vary by assignment)\ \ Manages the District\'s accounting functions, including but not limited to, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cashmanagement, purchase order processes,fixed assets, grants accounting, special assessments, and related financial functions;\ Supervises, trains, and evaluates subordinate personnel;\ Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, annual, and other periodic financial reports to state, federal, and other agencies as required;\ Prepares and makes entries into the District journal and/or general ledger, including investigating and resolving discrepancies;\ Performs cash management functions, including coding all District revenue and ensuring revenue is apportioned to the proper account;\ Manages and reconciles all District bank accounts;\ Performs monthly and annual close out function on all District accounts;\ Assists grant directors with accounting functions, including tracking expenditures, account balances, and preparing periodic reports;\ Assists in maintaining fixed asset accounting system;\ Participates in annual independent audit, including preparation of annual audit report;\ Interprets and implements new accounting standards, and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles;\ Provides accounting support andtraining to the District Office and school staff asneeded;\ Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures, and safety practices.\ \ Other Duties and Responsibilities\ \ Performs other related duties as required.\ \ Competency Requirements:\ \ Knowledge of:\ Principles, methods, objectives, and practices of school district finance and accounting systems and administration;\ Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting;\ Current employee supervision, training, and evaluation techniques;\ Federal, state and local laws, tax codes, and regulations applicable to school district accounting;\ Organizational management;\ Principles, practices, and objectives of budget preparation and implementation;\ Operation of standard and specialized office equipment, including a personal computer and job-related softwareapplications such as Microsoft Excel;\ English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.\ Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting;\ \ Ability to:\ Follow written and oral instructions and observeDepartment and District policiesand procedures;\ Analyze and interpret fiscal accounting records and prepare accurate and complete financial reports;\ Supervise and evaluate the work of subordinate personnel;\ Operate standard office equipment and a personal computer and job-related software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and other required applications;\ Make arithmetical computations quickly and accurately;\ Prepare accurate and grammatically correct written reports and prepare and maintain required records, logs, reports, and documentation;\ File and maintain complex District records;\ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other District employees, supervisory personnel, administrators, and the general public;\ Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing;\ Use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions;\ Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including handling interruptions, and return to and
