Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Medical Assistants in San Jose, California! This role is in person / onsite. Please review the details below and apply with an updated resume.

Position Type : Contract to hire!

Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm

Pay : $25 to $28 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant :

· Perform clinical patient care duties within the scope of medical assistant training, including obtaining patient histories, measuring vital signs, performing ECGs and other diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, performing venipuncture and injections, documenting patient information, managing supplies, and maintaining sterile techniques.

· Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers in delivering appropriate care to patients across various age groups.

· Perform both front-office and back-office responsibilities, including patient registration, check-in and check-out, insurance verification, appointment scheduling and confirmation, telephone support, and general administrative assistance.

· Prepare patient charts and required forms prior to appointments and for provider review.

· Process medication refill requests as ordered by the medical provider.

· Provide patients with appropriate education, instructions, and information regarding examinations and procedures.

· Assist with maintaining accurate medical records, immunization records, and other health-related registries.

· Resolve routine patient concerns and communicate issues requiring additional assistance to the appropriate supervisor or medical provider.

· Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and rights in accordance with HIPAA requirements and organizational policies.

· Follow OSHA standards, infection-control procedures, and established safety protocols.

· Demonstrate the ability to respond appropriately and effectively in emergency situations.

· Maintain professional, courteous, and effective communication with patients, families, providers, and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.

· Apply effective problem-solving skills and utilize appropriate communication channels to address and resolve concerns.

· Participate in ongoing training, quality-improvement initiatives, health outreach activities, and other professional development opportunities.

· Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications of the Medical Assistant :

· High school graduate or GED equivalent

· 2+ years of MA experience, outpatient experience highly preferred

· Medical Assistant certification (National Certification AAMA, AMT, NCCT, CCBMA) certification

· BLS Certification OR within 30 days of employment

· Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations

· Proficiency in medical practice management systems, EPIC EHR experience preferred.

· Ability to maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
