Job Title: Industrial Painter In Belen, NM

Job Description

Prepare surfaces and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber, or other materials. Apply coatings to specifications and complete detailed special applications as appropriate to meet surface and final product requirements.

Responsibilities

Spray and apply hand-held application of coatings.

Use hand tools to clean or prepare interior and exterior product surfaces.

Train in surface preparation through blast process.

Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial finishes on metal and other surfaces.

Prepare and respray surfaces that do not meet customer specifications and standards.

Train fellow employees.

Repair paint equipment including replacing tips, hoses, and pump filters.

Inspect work and complete quality and production documents.

Assist in the completion of all tasks to meet deadlines.

Maintain attendance within acceptable standards.

Essential Skills

Experience in painting, paint preparation, and industrial painting.

Proficiency with spray guns and blasting techniques.

Familiarity with industrial paint, heavy-duty surface preparation, and specialized coating application.

Adherence to strict safety compliance to protect large-scale infrastructure and equipment.

Mechanical assembly skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Preferred experience of 3 years.

Ability to operate plural component pumps, wet film gages, and environmental gages.

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Strong desire to learn.

Team player with attention to detail.

Dependable and punctual.

Interest and aptitude for technology.

Strong interpersonal communication skills, good listener, and open to feedback.

Work Environment

The work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas, as well as plant grounds. This position may require work and maintenance coverage beyond normal hours, shifts, and on weekends/holidays. Be prepared to tolerate high and low temperatures and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6 am to 6 pm, with overtime required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belen, NM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $19.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
