Job Summary

The Medication Use Coordinator supports medication assistance and patient support programs by coordinating case activities related to pharmaceutical assistance, reimbursement support, and medication access programs. This role works with patients, clinical sites, and internal partners to facilitate enrollment in medication assistance programs, review relevant documentation, and support compliant case management processes. The Medication Use Coordinator assists in identifying eligible patients, coordinating program participation, and ensuring accurate documentation to support operational workflows and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

Identifies eligible patients for medication assistance and patient support programs using designated systems and workflows.

Coordinates enrollment and documentation for pharmaceutical manufacturer assistance programs, foundation programs, and other medication access initiatives.

Reviews program documentation, claims information, and supporting materials to ensure accuracy and compliance with established program requirements.

Communicates with clinical sites, patients, internal teams, and external partners to support medication access and program participation.

Coordinates with pharmacy, patient financial services, and clinical teams to address case issues and support timely case progression.

Maintains accurate documentation within designated systems and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and privacy requirements.

Identifies and escalates complex cases, trends, or operational barriers to leadership for review and resolution.

Participates in quality monitoring activities, workflow improvement initiatives, and cross-training efforts to support operational continuity.

Supports program operations through coordination of case management activities and adherence to established procedures and standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or GED required

2-4 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or healthcare setting required

Experience working with medication assistance programs, reimbursement support programs, or healthcare revenue cycle functions preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of medication assistance programs, manufacturer patient assistance programs, and reimbursement workflows.

Understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes, payer requirements, and regulatory considerations related to medication access.

Ability to review billing documentation, claims information, and related records for accuracy and program eligibility.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with patients, clinical teams, and external partners.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

Ability to work effectively within structured workflows and standardized program procedures.

Licenses and Certifications

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required
