Job Title: Battery Test Technician
Job Description
The Battery Test Technician develops and executes comprehensive test plans for vehicle systems and components, with a focus on battery-related performance and reliability. This role involves selecting and installing appropriate instrumentation, conducting tests in a variety of environments, analyzing data to diagnose issues, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and testing standards.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute detailed test plans for vehicle systems and components, with emphasis on battery performance and durability.
Select appropriate test instrumentation and equipment based on test objectives and vehicle system requirements.
Instrument vehicles accurately, including installation, configuration, and verification of sensors and data acquisition systems.
Ensure the quality, completeness, and integrity of data recorded during all test activities.
Conduct vehicle testing on test tracks, public roads, and controlled environments in accordance with defined procedures and safety guidelines.
Analyze test data to identify performance issues, defects, and anomalies in vehicle systems and battery components.
Diagnose root causes of issues uncovered during testing and propose corrective actions or design improvements.
Document test results, findings, and recommendations clearly and concisely, including detailed reporting in Jira.
Work collaboratively with design, development, and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve identified issues.
Contribute to the development, refinement, and implementation of test methodologies, procedures, and standards for vehicle and battery testing.
Maintain, calibrate, and verify test equipment regularly to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with test requirements.
Follow work instructions and proto@type testing procedures to ensure consistent and repeatable test execution.
Stay current with industry trends, tools, and advancements in vehicle and battery testing technologies and incorporate best practices into daily work.
Essential Skills
Strong foundation in electronics and engineering principles relevant to vehicle and battery systems.
Hands-on troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues in electronic and mechanical vehicle components.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings for instrumentation and vehicle systems.
Experience with test equipment used in vehicle and battery testing, including setup, operation, and calibration.
Practical experience in software testing for new vehicles, including data collection and defect reporting.
Ability to follow and apply detailed work instructions and test procedures consistently.
Experience working with proto@type vehicles or components in a test or development environment.
Proficiency in documenting test results and issues clearly, including using Jira or similar tools for tracking findings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience contributing to the development of test methodologies and standards.
Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration between design, development, and manufacturing teams.
Comfort working in environments that require adaptability, organization, and proactive problem solving.
Work Environment
This role is based fully onsite in a hands-on, dynamic, and sometimes unstructured environment. The Battery Test Technician works directly with proto@type vehicles and test equipment, often in test tracks, public roads, and controlled test facilities. The position involves frequent interaction with engineering and development teams, use of various electronic instrumentation and data acquisition tools, and adherence to safety and test procedures in a fast-paced setting

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loudon, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
