Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Ojai, California in a contract position with the potential to become permanent. This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable balancing accounting duties with order coordination and administrative support in a busy environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, a dependable work style, and the flexibility to learn new systems quickly while maintaining accurate financial and operational records.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the end-to-end processing of customer orders, ensuring purchase orders and invoices are entered accurately and completed on schedule.

Support day-to-day accounting activities by managing accounts receivable, recording incoming payments, and preparing check deposits.

Assist with bookkeeping tasks such as maintaining financial records, reconciling transactions, and supporting routine reporting needs.

Provide administrative assistance through organized filing, document maintenance, and general office coordination.

Offer light HR support by helping maintain employee records and assisting with basic administrative follow-up.

Learn and use company platforms effectively, including order management and inventory systems such as Cin7, to keep operations running smoothly.

Maintain a high standard of accuracy and follow-through while handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Requirements - 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or a similar operational finance role.

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and solid understanding of core bookkeeping practices.

Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.

Ability to manage high-volume order and invoice activity with strong attention to detail.

Comfort using business software and learning new systems quickly in a changing environment.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle administrative responsibilities alongside financial tasks.

Dependable, proactive, and able to communicate clearly while working across multiple functions.
