Job Description

We are seeking a Thermal Analyst II/III to support the thermal design, modeling, and analysis of advanced spacecraft systems and flight hardware. In this role, you will develop and maintain thermal models, perform steady-state and transient analyses, evaluate thermal performance, and support thermal testing activities throughout the product lifecycle.

The Thermal Analyst will work closely with mechanical, electrical, systems, and test engineering teams to ensure hardware operates within allowable temperature limits across all mission environments. A primary responsibility for this position is building and executing thermal models using Thermal Desktop while using engineering judgment to identify risks, assess design changes, and develop thermal solutions. Aerospace or satellite experience is preferred but not required; candidates from industries such as automotive, electronics, energy, defense, or industrial systems are encouraged to apply.

This position is an initial 6-month contract with opportunity to extend. The hourly rate is based on experience, ranging from $48.50-72.50/hr. This is an onsite position, working a 9x80 schedule.

Skills and Requirements

Thermal Analyst II

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.

2-5 years of thermal analysis experience.

Experience using Thermal Desktop for thermal modeling and analysis.

Strong understanding of heat transfer principles including conduction, convection, and radiation.

Experience interpreting and communicating analysis results.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Thermal Analyst III

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.

5+ years of thermal analysis experience.

Advanced Thermal Desktop modeling experience.

Experience independently executing thermal analyses for complex systems.

Experience supporting thermal testing and model correlation activities.

Ability to mentor junior analysts and provide technical leadership. Thermal Desktop experience.

SINDA/FLUINT experience.

Experience supporting hardware development and testing.

Aerospace, spacecraft, satellite, electronics, automotive, or energy industry experience.

Experience with thermal vacuum or environmental testing.

MATLAB or Python experience.

Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Experience presenting findings to engineering and program leadership.
