Robert Half is in the process of recruiting a Staff Accountant to join a growing company in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least two plus years General Ledger accounting experience,. Advanced Excel skills are required and experience with SAP is a plus. The primary function of this role is to support our accounting operations by accurately recording daily and monthly transactions, conducting research, preparing reports, and assisting with month-end closing activities. Responsibilities:

Accurately record daily and monthly transactional activity in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies

Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

Assist in preparing financial statements for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting

Contribute to the annual external audit process

Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and other departments to resolve any accounting issues

Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accurate reporting

Manage special projects as assigned by the Controller

Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and intangibles

Conduct bank account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements

Utilize SAP and Microsoft Excel to maintain and analyze financial data.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in general ledger accounting or a closely related accounting role.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.

Working knowledge of month-end close procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliation practices.

Experience reconciling bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts with a high level of accuracy.

Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and financial record maintenance.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working in SAP.

Understanding of U.S. GAAP and standard accounting controls.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail.
