To serve as administrative support to the Director of the School of Nursing and to provide clerical and administrative support to all matters related to the Director's Office. The duties and responsibilities could include but not limited to; providing professional support and customer service to clients, students, faculty and/or staff, assist with clerical and administrative duties, answer and transfer calls, compose written materials (such as memos, emails, agendas or minutes from meetings), banner processing, order office supplies, and other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

North Carolina A & T State University is a public land grant high research institution that is committed to teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service. The John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences ( HCHHS ) comprises six departments and the School of Nursing. The HCHHS offers the following undergraduate degree programs; Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Services Management, Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, and Social Work, Sociology. At the graduate level, HCHHS offers four graduate degree programs including the Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (PA program), Master of Social Work ( MSW ), Master of Science in Health Psychology and PhD in Social Work. Three additional doctoral programs being are being developed; Doctor of Nurse practice ( DNP ), PhD in Applied Psychology, and PhD in Sociology. The HCHHS is also home to the Center of Excellence in Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research ( CIHDER ), a hub for multidisciplinary research and community engagement efforts to alleviate health inequities. The HCHHS capitalizes on the synergistic relationships between these departments to develop advanced academic health science programming, enhance the training of healthcare practitioners, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary research and scholastic activity.

The School of Nursing is dedicated to equipping individuals for the nursing profession, ensuring they possess the essential skills and knowledge for quality, safe, patient-centered care. Our comprehensive program offerings include traditional bachelor of science in nursing ( BSN ) tracks, Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( ABSN ), and RN to BSN pathways, catering to different ranges of educational needs. We are committed to advancing health equality and engaging with communities as part of our mission to enhance the wellbeing of individuals and communities. This mission is fueled by leadership, research, education, and service. Our faculty, who are expert clinicians and educators, utilize cutting-edge technology at our Union Square campus to provide nursing education grounded in current theory, research, and evidence-based practice. We are proud to offer a new Doctor of Nursing Practice program, further expanding our

educational horizons. Students in all programs, whether pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies, benefit from academic excellence fostered in small, flexible classes guided by supportive faculty. The School of Nursing faculty conduct clinical and translational research and contribute to scholarship that advances the overall health of our communities.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Preferred:

Minimum of high school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred.

· Minimum of two years of administrative or office management experience.

· Possess exemplary time management and organizational skills.

· Strong evidence of problem-solving skills and initiative when appropriate.

· Strong computer and software skills.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and faculty.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
