Job Description: State & Local Tax Manager- National Tax The National State & Local Tax (SALT) professional serves as a firmwide technical resource, providing leadership, guidance, and practical solutions across all areas of state taxation. This role partners closely with client-facing teams and practice offices to monitor evolving state tax developments, address complex technical matters, strengthen compliance capabilities, and translate technical tax concepts into actionable guidance for both internal and external audiences. Location: East Coast preferred. Must be located near an office. An ideal candidate will: Enjoy partnering with other tax professionals in the firm, researching complex state tax issues, and analyzing new developments to provide guidance and planning recommendations. Be a prolific writer who enjoys creating thought leadership on key tax issues and working with marketing to ensure a high level of information is disseminated internally and externally. What you will do: Conduct in-depth technical research and analysis of complex state and local tax matters across multiple jurisdictions and tax @types. Research and interpret statutes, regulations, administrative guidance, case law, and other authoritative sources to develop technically sound positions and practical recommendations. Monitor and evaluate new and proposed state tax legislation, regulations, administrative guidance, and judicial decisions, and assess their potential impact on clients and the firm's tax practice. Serve as a national technical resource, collaborating with practice leaders, subject-matter specialists, and client-facing teams to provide guidance on complex, significant, or emerging state and
