The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

The Marketing Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of marketing technology tools and platforms within the organization. This role operates at the intersection of marketing and technology, ensuring that digital solutions align with business objectives and enhance marketing effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of marketing platforms along with a deep knowledge of marketing strategies.

This role involves technical aspects but operates from a business perspective. This individual will work closely with stakeholders, internal and external developers and is a key contact with other departments. The Marketing Technology Manager reports to Marketing Operations while working closely with Marketing Stakeholders, Engineering, Project Managers, Product Owners, Procurement, Legal and Security.

This is a full-time in-office position working with our Marketing team out of our corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The primary responsibility of this position is the continual monitoring, evaluation and optimization of the marketing technology stack. This entails regular review of technologies with product owners and the usage of those technologies. The Marketing Technology Administrator will provide opportunities for additional training, implementation, third-party assistance, adjustments or additions to the technology stack back to business leaders.

Act as a bridge between marketing stakeholders and the technical teams, ensuring both sides are aligned on project goals and requirements.

Gather input from marketers about needs and integrations, then translate those requirements into actionable tasks.

Champion Data-Driven Decision Making: Establish clear success metrics tied to business impact. Use data, experimentation, and customer insights to guide product strategy and measure progress.

Roadmap Ownership: Define the technical roadmap and backlog for tools.

Vendor Management: Evaluate third-party software, lead "build vs. buy" decisions, and manage vendor relationships and costs.
