Safety Manager - Electrical Construction
Location: Frederick, Maryland (onsite daily)
40+ hours per week
Temp-to-hire
Targeted pay rate: $43-62/hr depending on experience and qualifications
Electrical construction experience and current OSHA 500 certification are required.

Kelly Engineering is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager with a strong electrical safety background to oversee safety activities on an active construction site.
This person will be responsible for identifying and addressing hazards, conducting safety training, supporting high-risk work, maintaining site safety documentation, and partnering with contractors and other safety professionals to keep the project compliant and safe.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain project-specific safety plans and procedures.
Conduct site orientations, safety meetings, and employee training.
Lead Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and identify controls for high-risk work.
Develop and enforce requirements for PPE, housekeeping, signage, barricades, and other site controls.
Conduct regular site walks to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Oversee safety during high-risk construction activities.
Perform or coordinate equipment safety inspections.
Provide training on topics such as:
Electrical safety
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Aerial/scissor/boom lift operation
Other site-specific safety requirements
Coordinate additional training with the electrical contractor and General Contractor.
Prepare and submit weekly safety reports.
Participate in weekly safety committee meetings.
Work with subcontractor safety teams to identify opportunities for improving site safety.
Assist with investigations involving injuries, property damage, and near misses.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis and development of corrective actions.
Support fatigue-management, pre-task planning, and site wellness/safety programs.
What You'll Need:
5+ years of construction safety experience.
Electrical construction/safety experience.
Current OSHA 500 certification.
BCSP credential at the CHST, ASP, or CSP level; CHST minimum.
NFPA 70E Electrical Safety certification.
Experience with confined-space safety and training.
Ability to provide scissor lift and boom lift safety training.
Current training/certifications in:
First Aid
CPR/AED
Bloodborne Pathogens
Narcan
Emergency procedures
Mental Health First Aid
Working knowledge of construction safety platforms such as SafetyMojo, BIM 360, and Procore.
Ability to walk approximately 8+ miles throughout the workday on an active construction site.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
