Job Title: Maintenance Engineering Technician Job Description
The Maintenance Engineering Technician inspects, repairs, and services manufacturing equipment to keep it in optimal operating condition and to maintain a safe work environment. This role focuses on applying established safety standards and preventative maintenance processes to support high-quality production, minimize downtime, and contribute to continuous improvement in equipment performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
Perform repairs and maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure it operates in the best possible condition and under the safest conditions.
Carry out structural work to modify facility infrastructure or equipment to meet evolving manufacturing requirements.
Follow manufacturer instructions, manuals, and diagrams to diagnose and troubleshoot routine equipment problems while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Disassemble, inspect, evaluate, reassemble, and test manufacturing or maintenance equipment that fails to operate or perform its intended function.
Collaborate with production teams to understand job requirements, support building what is needed per job, and identify opportunities to streamline processes.
Work with production to help define and implement effective processes that support manufacturing efficiency and quality.
Order consumable gases and machine-specific parts based on equipment needs to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies as required with minimal supervision.
Record observations of equipment wear, potential failure points, and safety issues identified during preventative maintenance activities.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks within designated timeframes while maintaining a high level of quality and thoroughness.
Ensure all hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, handled, and prepared for proper disposal in accordance with safety guidelines.
Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal resources, and vendor support to research and resolve machine issues.
Complete and maintain accurate documentation of service history and maintenance activities to support easy access to records and development of predictive maintenance processes.
Maintain open communication and work closely with all departments to coordinate maintenance activities and support production needs.
Document all changes made to equipment, processes, or settings and communicate these changes to the appropriate channels.
Participate in required meetings and training sessions, actively seeking opportunities to add value and improve job performance.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support maintenance operations and manufacturing goals.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience with production or manufacturing equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience with preventive maintenance practices and procedures.
Basic understanding of hydraulics and 3-phase electrical systems.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience operating welding equipment and cutting torches.
Ability to operate lathes and milling machines.
Familiarity with 3-phase high voltage systems (220V, 240V, 480V).
Experience working with power equipment in a manufacturing or maintenance setting.
Knowledge of 5S practices, including cleaning, organizing, sweeping, and mopping work areas.
Ability to prioritize maintenance jobs based on production needs and equipment criticality.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with production and other departments.
Attention to detail in documenting maintenance activities and equipment changes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
