Assistive Technology Specialist

Location: Corona, CA Area

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week

Pay Rate: $60.00+ per hour (DOE)

Setting: K-12 School-Based Services

We are seeking a dedicated Assistive Technology Specialist to join our school-based team in the Corona area. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support students with diverse learning, communication, physical, and developmental needs by identifying and implementing assistive technology solutions that enhance access to education and promote independence.

The Assistive Technology Specialist will work collaboratively with special education teams, related service providers, educators, administrators, students, and families to ensure students receive the tools and support necessary to succeed in the classroom.

Essential Responsibilities

Conduct assistive technology evaluations and assessments for students with identified educational needs.

Recommend appropriate assistive technology devices, software, and accommodations to support student participation and academic achievement.

Collaborate with teachers, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Psychologists, and Special Education teams.

Provide training and consultation to staff, students, and families on the effective use of assistive technology.

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute assessment findings and recommendations.

Customize, program, troubleshoot, and support assistive technology devices and applications.

Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of assistive technology interventions.

Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and compliance records.

Stay current on emerging assistive technology tools, best practices, and educational trends.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Educational Technology, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Rehabilitation Services, or a related field.

Experience conducting assistive technology assessments and developing recommendations.

Knowledge of AAC devices, adaptive equipment, accessibility software, and educational technology tools.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary educational teams.

Preferred

Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification through RESNA.

Previous experience in a K-12 school setting.

Familiarity with California Special Education regulations and IEP processes.

Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

$60.00+ per hour , based on experience and qualifications
