Job Description

An employer in the life sciences industry is looking for a Data & AI Product Owner - Manufacturing to join the hybrid-onsite team. This person will serve as the bridge between manufacturing business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping define, prioritize, and advance data, analytics, and AI products that support manufacturing operations. This individual will spend much of their time partnering with manufacturing process owners, site leaders, and functional stakeholders to understand business challenges, identify opportunities for digital enablement, and translate manufacturing needs into product capabilities, requirements, roadmaps, and prioritized backlogs. They will work across product, architecture, data engineering, OT, and application teams to guide execution, ensure alignment to business objectives, and drive delivery of manufacturing-focused data and AI solutions. A key focus of the role will be leveraging manufacturing analytics and IT/OT data, including process and time-series data, equipment performance, operational events, downtime, throughput, and production efficiency metrics, to unlock actionable insights and new capabilities. The Product Owner will also evaluate emerging digital, data, analytics, IoT, and AI technologies; lead proof-of-concepts and pilot initiatives; establish evaluation criteria and business cases; and provide recommendations on build-versus-buy decisions and vendor solutions. Success in this role requires someone who understands manufacturing processes well enough to confidently engage business stakeholders, navigate complex manufacturing and quality data ecosystems, independently drive cross-functional initiatives, and translate operational challenges into scalable digital product opportunities.

Skills and Requirements

6-10+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, or a similar role supporting digital, data, analytics, AI, or technology-driven products.

Strong manufacturing domain expertise, preferably within pharmaceutical or regulated environments, with a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, business processes, and stakeholder needs.

Experience working with manufacturing data and analytics, including IT/OT data, process and time-series data, equipment performance, operational events, throughput, runtime/downtime metrics, and broader manufacturing data ecosystems.

Familiarity with core manufacturing technologies and systems, including MES, ERP/SAP, quality systems, and related platforms.

Proven ability to translate manufacturing business challenges into product capabilities, requirements, roadmaps, and prioritized backlogs while partnering closely with technical teams through delivery
