Job Title: Production Assembly Technician Job Description
The Production Assembly Technician assembles mechanical and electro-mechanical components and machines in a lean production environment. This role focuses on meeting daily production goals, maintaining high quality standards, and keeping work cells clean and well organized while following standardized processes and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components and machines according to drawings and written work instructions.
Meet daily production goals while maintaining established quality standards.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency within lean work cells.
Communicate any workload backlog or production issues promptly.
Multitask and adapt to changes in production schedules and priorities.
Effectively communicate with supervisors and provide status updates on the work area.
Ensure standardized work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented when needed.
Comply with all safety requirements and maintain a safe work environment.
Perform special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
Lift and move components and parts weighing up to 50 lbs as required for assembly.
Essential Skills
Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of basic mechanical and electro-mechanical principles and procedures.
Ability to follow mechanical drawings and written work documentation accurately.
Ability to utilize basic hand tools and perform general labor tasks.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
Ability to multitask and remain flexible when production schedules shift.
Strong communication skills to effectively report status and issues to supervisors.
Capability to take direction and assume responsibility for assigned tasks.
Physical ability to lift and move components and parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a lean production environment is desired but not required.
Mechanically inclined with an interest in assembly and manufacturing.
Aptitude and drive to achieve results both independently and as part of a group.

Work Environment
This role is based in a clean, organized manufacturing facility that produces reverse vending equipment used to recycle beverage containers. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some overtime and occasional Saturday work as needed to meet production demands. Work is performed in lean production cells using basic hand tools and mechanical assembly equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety, standardized processes, and continuous improvement. The environment supports teamwork as well as independent work, and requires adherence to all safety and operational guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NAUGATUCK, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
