Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) is seeking an Accounts Administrator to support the state's daily cash operations by reconciling bank accounts, verifying financial transactions, and assisting with key processes such as ACH approvals, investment reconciliation, and daily cash reporting. This role works closely with financial institutions and state agencies to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and ensure all funds are properly accounted for. The Accounts Administrator is essential to safeguarding state resources and supporting MMB's mission of effective financial stewardship.
Job duties for this position include:
Reconciling bank statements for the majority of the 600+ state financial institution accounts, ensuring deposits and account activity are accurately recorded in SWIFT (StateWide Integrated Financial Tools).
Assisting with opening, scanning and disbursing mail delivered to the office.
Identifying and resolving discrepancies by communicating with financial institutions and state agencies.
Processing and confirming daily ACH transactions, including tracking outgoing wires and confirming totals with the bank.
This position is required to work at least 50% in the St. Paul office and has the option to telework the other 50% time if they meet telework policy eligibility requirements.
Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of experience analyzing and reconciling financial transactions in a banking or accounting environment; OR three (3) years of experience supporting financial operations through activities such as entering financial data, processing payments or invoices, or verifying account information.
Experience must include:
Ability to interpret and analyze financial documents or bank statements to resolve discrepancies by reviewing financial data from multiple sources.
Advanced computer skills and utilization of financial or accounting software and experience with complex spreadsheets to review, track, or reconcile transactions.
Strong attention to detail shown through careful review of financial information.
Communication skills sufficient to coordinate with financial institutions and agency staff to resolve questions or discrepancies in account activity.
Demonstrated respect for diversity and a deep commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with immediate staff, management and other divisional staff.

A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Experience in a banking environment assisting with bank transactions.
Experience using SWIFT or PeopleSoft for reconciling financial information.
Experience communicating with financial institutions regarding account activity, ACH transactions, or investment settlements.
Experience reconciling moderate to complex bank accounts.
