Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description
This full-time, first-shift Warehouse Worker role runs approximately from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a flexible start time. You will begin with comprehensive training on first shift to ensure you fully understand all responsibilities before working independently. In this position, you use a computer to pull the daily schedule, move raw materials and finished products to the correct locations in the plant based on production and shipping requirements, and support key inventory and shipping/receiving activities to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Train on first shift to learn all warehouse processes, systems, and safety procedures before working independently.
Use a computer to access and review the daily schedule and determine material and product movement requirements.
Move raw materials from storage areas to appropriate production locations according to scheduling needs.
Transfer finished product from the production floor to designated locations, including shipping, based on line status and quality requirements.
Support cycle counting activities to maintain accurate inventory levels and records.
Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including staging, loading, and unloading materials and products.
Organize and maintain inventory locations to ensure clear, efficient material flow throughout the warehouse and production areas.
Account for inventory accurately within the ERP system, following established procedures and documentation standards.
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials, products, and pallets within the facility.
Load and unload flatbed trucks, van body trailers, and reefer trailers while maintaining safety and efficiency.
Maintain an organized receiving area, warehouse, and production support areas to promote a clean and efficient work environment.
Label inventory stored in pallet racking to make items easy to identify and locate.
Scan all packing lists into the system to ensure accurate and timely documentation of incoming and outgoing materials.
Follow all aspects of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to complete work accurately and efficiently within the ERP system.
Implement and participate in continuous improvement efforts in shipping, receiving, and material handling processes.
Contribute new ideas and provide positive support for existing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Participate in Environment, Health & Safety activities to help improve overall safety in the facility.
Work closely with production teams to deliver parts on time and ensure customer orders ship as scheduled.
Assist in organizing floor stock areas to ensure materials are accessible and properly arranged.
Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Previous forklift (hi-lo) experience, including stand-up or sit-down equipment.
Experience operating pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
Hands-on experience with an ERP system for inventory and warehouse operations.
Ability to use a computer confidently for scheduling, data entry, and documentation.
Material handling experience in a warehouse or production environment.
Inventory tracking experience, including cycle counting and stock organization.
Order picking experience using warehouse tools and equipment.
Ability to use RF scanners for scanning packing lists and tracking inventory.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, scanning, and inventory accounting.
Commitment to following safety procedures and participating in health and safety initiatives.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in shipping and receiving operations.
Familiarity with organizing floor stock and pallet racking systems.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities and suggest process enhancements.
Ability to collaborate closely with production teams and other departments.
Strong organizational skills to maintain clean, orderly warehouse and receiving areas.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse and production support environment on first shift, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility on start time. You work in and around receiving, warehouse, and production areas, using forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and computers with an ERP system to manage materials and inventory. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walker, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
