Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description
This role focuses on receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items within a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. You will maintain accurate inventory records, ensure items are stored safely and efficiently, and support the overall flow of materials throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
Receive incoming stock items, verify quantities, and accurately record data manually or using computer systems.
Count and document inventory to ensure records match physical stock levels.
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or correct errors as needed.
Store items in an orderly, safe, and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other designated areas.
Label and identify stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational standards.
Monitor and keep records of the use, condition, and any damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear, damage, or defects and promptly report any issues to supervisors.
Provide assistance, guidance, or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers to support efficient operations.
Essential Skills
Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Clear written communication skills to accurately complete inventory records and documentation.
Analytical and problem-solving ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
Ability to work effectively as a team player and collaborate with other warehouse and stockroom staff.
High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate counting, labeling, and storage of materials.
Knowledge of relevant warehouse equipment, policies, and procedures related to inventory control and stock handling.
Understanding of strategies and procedures that support safe and secure operations for the protection of people, data, property, and facilities.
High school diploma or GED.
5-7 years of experience in a similar role, such as Material Handler.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in roles such as Material Handler or similar warehouse positions.
Comfort using inventory systems and basic computer applications to record and track stock.
Familiarity with labeling tools, such as identification tags, stamps, and electric marking equipment.
Ability to maintain organized storage areas and follow safety and security procedures consistently.

Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse or storage yard environment that includes stockrooms, tool rooms, and supply rooms. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menomonee Falls, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
