About the Role

Robert Half is seeking a professional and organized Administrative Assistant for a contract opportunity with a respected law firm in New Haven, Connecticut. This position is ideal for an administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced office environment and enjoys supporting attorneys and legal staff with a variety of administrative and client service responsibilities.

The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the office through calendar management, document preparation, client communications, and general administrative support.

Responsibilities

Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails in a professional manner

Greet clients and visitors and maintain a welcoming office environment

Schedule meetings, appointments, and conference calls for attorneys and staff

Manage calendars and coordinate appointments

Prepare, format, proofread, and distribute legal and business correspondence

Maintain electronic and physical filing systems

Assist with document management, scanning, copying, and recordkeeping

Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and courier services

Order office supplies and maintain inventory levels

Support attorneys and administrative staff with special projects and daily office operations

Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Requirements

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

2+ years of administrative support experience

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment

Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a law firm, legal department, or professional services environment

Experience managing calendars and scheduling for multiple team members

Familiarity with legal terminology and document preparation

Experience with document management or case management software

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday

Standard business hours

Contract assignment with potential for extension based on business needs
