Job Title: Electrical Technical Services Representative
Job Description
The Electrical Technical Services Representative supports customers by providing expert technical assistance for water softeners, water filters, reverse osmosis systems, deionization systems, and other water treatment products. This role focuses on troubleshooting equipment, resolving customer issues, and delivering high-quality service in a collaborative environment. The position combines hands-on technical work, customer-facing support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable performance of water treatment systems and strong customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, using technical troubleshooting techniques to diagnose issues and provide effective solutions for water treatment products.
Train and demonstrate water treatment equipment to internal and external customers and technical support staff, either in-house, at customer locations, or virtually.
Perform field start-up of water treatment equipment at customer sites, ensuring proper installation, configuration, and operation.
Prepare and deliver accurate quotations for replacement parts and components based on customer needs and equipment specifications.
Participate in product development projects and documentation activities to improve product quality, leveraging customer feedback and field experience.
Collaborate closely with team members across Engineering, Sales, Operations, and other departments to resolve customer issues and ensure consistent support.
Interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), electrical schematics, ladder logic, and other technical data to provide accurate answers to field questions and develop effective solutions.
Identify and document non-conformances and root causes related to field customer issues, and implement solutions or corrective actions when appropriate.
Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and apply this understanding to develop unique and custom solutions tailored to customer applications.
Interface with ERP systems (such as NetSuite) to execute necessary transactions and activities related to service, parts, and customer support.
Perform occasional hands-on assembly or disassembly of products for technical analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation.
Adhere to company procedures and directives to ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to technical support and customer service.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics accurately.
Ability to understand and work with ladder logic at a minimum required level.
Strong technical troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems.
Experience with water treatment systems such as water softeners, water filters, reverse osmosis, deionization systems, and related process equipment.
Knowledge of valves, pumps, and other mechanical components commonly used in water treatment and process control systems.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic, including platforms such as Rockwell.
Proven customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal teams.
Competence in using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) to support service and parts-related transactions.
Strong schematic reading and general electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with process control and process equipment in industrial or commercial environments.
Experience in water treatment or water system operations and maintenance.
Comfort with training and presenting technical information to diverse audiences, both in person and virtually.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, and Operations.
Attention to detail in documenting non-conformances, root causes, and corrective actions.
Commitment to maintaining and expanding product knowledge to support custom and complex solutions.
Interest in contributing to product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment
This role is primarily based in a shop environment in Racine, working directly with water treatment equipment and related electrical and mechanical components. The position offers the flexibility to work from home one day per week, enabling a balance between on-site technical work and remote customer support or documentation tasks. The work involves a mix of office-based activities, such as phone and email support and ERP system use, and hands-on equipment work, including occasional assembly and disassembly for analysis. The environment supports collaboration across engineering, sales, and operations teams, with a focus on high-quality service and a culture characterized by low turnover and long-term stability.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
