Position:
Principal Mobile Software Engineer
Position Summary:
Designs, develops, documents, enhances, tests, and debugs extremely complex new and existing software systems and/or applications (cloud, network, internet, or in-house). Guides all phases of the development life-cycle including. Serves as a Subject Matter expert and helps ensure industry leadership. Supports junior team members and contributes to team upskilling.
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
Oversees and guides project teams to ensure complex deliverables are reviewed, tested, and delivered on time and within budget. Reviews code to find causes of errors and revises programs as needed.
Provides expertise and guides in all phases of the Agile software development life-cycle while working with cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment (Product team, Engineers, Development Leads, Architects, Quality Engineers, etc.).
Partners cross-functionally and contributes to the architectural strategies and infrastructure deployment of our platform(s). Identifies and evaluates new technologies for implementation.
Plans and executes unit, integration and performance testing to ensure reliability and scalability.
Identifies, develops, implements, and evangelizes newly developed best practices, software development techniques, company standards, and frameworks with other teams within the organization.
Develops advanced skills of colleagues through peer collaboration, mentoring, and training.
Serves as a subject matter expert and represents the team as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field (i.e. Computer Science) or equivalent
8+ years experience in an Enterprise development environment or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
Expert knowledge of software development lifecycles and their utilization in software projects
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work constructively in a collaborative Agile team environment
High-caliber problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the proven ability to identify, develop, communicate, implement, and guide process improvements and strategic initiatives
Exemplary understanding of Object Oriented Programming techniques and methodologies in Java, web MVC frameworks, Responsive web design, RESTful web services
Preferred:
Experience in the healthcare industry
Hands-on experience on AWS/GCP
Hands-on experience with Open-Source projects
Deep knowledge of iOS and Android platform internals (lifecycle, threading, memory, background execution limits)
Proven experience shipping apps through App Store and Play Store review and compliance processes
Experience building production apps with React Native and Expo
Experience with mobile state management and secure local storage
Experience with Firebase (push notifications, messaging) in a mobile app
Experience designing accessible mobile UI to WCAG 2.2 AA standards
Experience integrating mobile apps with backend REST APIs and cloud-hosted services (e.g., FastAPI/PostgreSQL on GCP)
Experience with crash reporting and monitoring tools (Crashlytics, Sentry, or similar)
Mobile-specific CI/CD experience: build pipelines, code signing, provisioning, staged rollouts, and rollback strategy
Mobile security expertise: secure storage, keychain/keystore, certificate pinning, and awareness of mobile-specific OWASP risks
Track record of leading production incident response, mentoring engineers, and setting enforceable mobile engineering standards
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay rate include your specific skills, experience, qualifications, location, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements.
The hiring range for this position is:
$143,190.00-$194,467.50
