Job Description: On-site at Columbus Airport. 30% of the project is complete. Projected full completion in 2 years. This person will support a construction management/owner's rep firm based out of Cincinnati, OH
We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent or construction manager to lead field operations on a major capital project at the Columbus Airport. This individual will play a critical leadership role overseeing the construction of significant building infrastructure, including structural framing, concrete slabs, building interiors, and related construction activities.
This will be a 6 month contract to hire role where this person will be hired by Actalent Services to support the construction management firm. During the initial contract, this person will have access to medical/dental/vision, holiday pay, PTO and access to 401k then will transition as a direct employee.
Responsibilities
Provide overall field leadership for assigned portions of the Columbus Airport project.
Manage and mentor Area Superintendents and field staff responsible for day-to-day construction activities.
Develop, monitor, and execute project schedules in partnership with project management teams.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
Lead daily, weekly, and monthly construction meetings.
Review construction documents, specifications, shop drawings, and schedules to proactively identify and resolve conflicts.
Ensure compliance with project safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture throughout the jobsite.
Drive quality control efforts and ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans and owner expectations.
Monitor project progress and implement recovery plans when schedule risks arise.
Collaborate with project leadership on construction sequencing, logistics planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
Utilize construction technology platforms, including Procore, iPads, and digital drawing management tools.
Support owner, architect, engineer, and contractor coordination efforts throughout project execution.
Assist with project reporting, construction planning, and stakeholder communications.
Essential Skills
10+ years of commercial construction experience with increasing field leadership responsibilities.
Previous experience serving as a Lead Superintendent or General Superintendent on large-scale commercial, institutional, aviation, healthcare, higher education, or public-sector projects.
Experience managing projects valued at $15M+.
Proven ability to oversee multiple phases of construction, including structural, concrete, interior buildout, and finishing work.
Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, sequencing, and subcontractor management.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Proficiency with Procore and digital construction management tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
